An eastern Lincoln County man charged in the deaths of two young children, including his daughter, was jailed Friday for stalking his 17-year-old ex-girlfriend, a student at East Lincoln High School, the Sheriff’s Office said.

According to an arrest warrant, Jordan Keely Arwood, 32, of 5858 Cedarbrook Court in Stanley, has called and texted the teen numerous times.

The Sheriff’s Office identified the teen as Kurstie Danielle Goins, of 5854 Cedarbrook Court.

Arwood is also accused of going to East Lincoln High School and asking individuals there about Goins’ personal life and school attendance, the Sheriff’s Office said.

He has since posted a $1,000 secured bond on the misdemeanor charge.

However, he still faces two felony counts of involuntary manslaughter in the April deaths of his daughter Chloe Arwood, 6, and nephew James Caldwell, 7.

A trench collapsed on the children on the suspect’s property, burying the victims alive.

At the time of the incident, deputies said the children had been inside the massive pit playing while Arwood was operating a backhoe at the residence.

Arwood told deputies he was building a basement for a future home. He did not have permits for the project, county officials said.

He turned himself in to deputies in September and was released the same day on a $15,000 secured bond.

Deputies have additionally filed charges against Arwood for felon possessing a firearm and marijuana possession.

He is set to appear in court again on Thursday.
