CROUSE — Johnathan Wayne Auton, age 22, of 2431 Lena Ann Court in Crouse, died on Thursday, October 3, 2013.
His funeral service was held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 6, 2013 at Riverview Baptist Church with Rev. Ricky Brown and Rev. Chris Randall officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. The family received friends from 1:30 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Johnathan was born February 1, 1991 in Lincoln County to Jerry Wayne and Angelia Owens Auton. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Douglas Owens who lived in Forest City.
He is survived by his parents, Wayne and Angelia Auton of the home; paternal grandparents, Reid Auton of Lincolnton and Marilyn Auton of Lincolnton; maternal grandparents, John and Evelyn Barkley of Nebo; and godparents, Glenn and Kay Hardin of Lincolnton.

Lester William Ball
Lester William Ball, 74, of 4628 Orchard Road, Iron Station died Saturday, October 5, 2013.
He was born in Swain County, son of the late Kelly Mack and Charlotte Graham Ball. He was member of Craig Memorial Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Julia Gale Dockery Ball; one daughter, Tammy Taylor of Lincolnton; six grandchildren, Steven William Black, Chelsea Black, and Wesley Black Jr. all of Iron Station, Audrianna Black, Matthew Taylor Jr. and Zoey Taylor all of Lincolnton; one great-grandson, Kaden Dotson; two brothers, Jasper Ball of Salisbury and Max Ball of Iron Station.
A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Ball will be held 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at Craig Memorial Baptist Church with Reverend Gary Rankin and Reverend Trent Rankin officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Lincolnton. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Robert Wayne Hudspeth
TROUTMAN — Robert Wayne Hudspeth, age 41, of 224 Judas Drive in Troutman, died on Thursday, October 3, 2013.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. today in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Andrea Conder officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Hudspeth was born November 2, 1971 in Farmington, Mich. to Robert P. Hudspeth and Deborah Brooks Poovey. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Robert and Hazel Hudspeth, and his maternal grandfather, Henry Brooks. Robert worked as a brick mason.
He is survived by his father, Robert P. Hudspeth of Denver; mother, Deborah B. Poovey of Dallas; one son, Robbie Hudspeth of Troutman; one sister, Regina Gray and husband Ben of Dallas; one half-sister, Rebekah Dean and husband Johnny of Piedmont, S.C.; one half-brother, Aaron Edwards and wife Alyssa of Gastonia; maternal grandmother, Vivian Brooks of Midland; and four nieces and eight nephews.

Wanda Hoyle Lee
Mrs. Wanda Hoyle Lee, age 72, of Laurel Street in Lincolnton, died peacefully on Saturday, October 5, 2013.
Her funeral service will be 3 p.m. on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Hollybrook Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
Mrs. Lee was born December 4, 1940 in Lincoln County to the late Donald and Mamie Poteat Hoyle. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Louie Dale Lee and two sisters, Clara Conner and Ruby Crump. Mrs. Lee was retired from textiles.
She is survived by one daughter, Tammie Abernathy of Lincolnton; two brothers, Kenneth Hoyle and Donald Hoyle of Lincolnton; one sister, Murel Canipe of Hickory; three grandchildren, Lindsay Abernathy, Emily Kiser and William Abernathy all of Lincolnton; four great-grandchildren.

Lewis David Peeler
Lewis David Peeler, 84, of Newton passed away Friday, October 4, 2013 at Carolina Care Center in Cherryville.
Born September 22, 1929 in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Richard Peeler and the late Zola Carter Peeler. Lewis was a member of First United Methodist Church in Maiden and was employed with the NC Department of Transportation, retiring after 30 years of service.
In addition to his parents, wife, Mary Joann Caldwell Peeler; a brother, Harry Lee Peeler; two sisters, Elizabeth Auton and Naomi “Pat” Sain preceded him in death.
Survivors include four brothers, Ronnie R. Peeler, Jerry Peeler, J.R. Peeler and Earl Peeler all of Lincolnton; one sister, Clara Abernathy of Cherryville; a number of nieces and nephews; special friends, Juanita Sherrill, Annette Gilbert, Nancy Drum and Kristy Kirk.
The funeral service will be held today at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Maiden with Rev. Tony Jordan and Rev. Jeremy Peeler officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Lincolnton. The family will receive friends, prior to the service, from 1 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at the church.
