Sanderson wins LCC championship

Keith Saine (left, tournament runner-up/tie), Gary Sanderson (middle, tournament champion) and Morty Wadsworth (tournament runner-up/tie) took home the hardware in the Lincoln Country Club championship over the weekend.


Gary Sanderson finished first in the 2013 Lincoln Country Club men’s championship fight over the weekend.
Alston Taylor finished the championship flight in second place.
Keith Saine won the first flight, followed by Gary Gaston. Morty Wadsworth won the second flight, followed by Gary Faulkenbury. The third flight went to Bud Lefevers, followed by Eli Walker. Henry Saine won the fourth flight, followed by Robert Ensley and Jamie Ewing, who tied. Guy Rudisill finished ahead of Dan Kocher in the fifth flight and the sixth flight went to Larry Kunisch ahead of Skeet Travis.
Danny Long, Bud Painter, Worth Roberts and Robert Taylor won the closest to the pin contests.
Sanderson was the overall tournament winner, followed by Keith Saine and Wadsworth.


LINCOLN CHARTER 3, CHALLENGER 0: At Challenger, the Eagles earned the non-conference shutout on Friday.
Daniel Moore, Danny Aguilar and Dakota Kuczenski scored a goal each and Cory Martin had an assist.
Eagles keeper Isaiah Smith had eight saves in goal. Lincoln Charter outshot Challenger 14-10.
The Eagles (8-3-0) host Community School of Davidson in a Southern Piedmont 1A match today.


NORTH IREDELL 3, NORTH LINCOLN 1: At North Iredell, the Knights fell 15-25, 14-25, 25-23, 23-25 in a North Piedmont 3A/4A Conference game on Thursday.
Savannah Dishman had 14 kills, Lyndsi Pound had nine kills, 10 digs and 11 blocks, Liza Sipe had five kills, Chandler Keller had 20 assists, Nicole Barbieri had 12 blocks, Olivia Loeffler had 22 digs, and Sidney Russell had nine digs.
North Lincoln (11-8, 3-7) travels to Mooresville on Tuesday.
