Walter Warlick, Jr.

Walter Theodore Warlick, Jr., 88, of 760 Rockdale Road, Vale, entered peacefully into life eternal on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at his home.
Walter was born in Cleveland County on August 12, 1925 to the late Walter Theodore Warlick, Sr. and Lessie Lawrence Downs Warlick.
He served in the US Navy during World War II on a destroyer escort vessel in the European Theater. He returned home and started the family business, Warlick Brothers Dairy, Inc.
Walter was a life-long active member of Norman’s Grove Baptist Church. He served his church in numerous capacities including deacon, church secretary and Sunday school teacher.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother, Robert Warlick.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Ida Iwilla “Witts” Mull Warlick; four daughters, Jane Moss and husband Steen of Denver, Lois Lineberger and husband Bob of Lincolnton, Gail Anthony and husband Linny of Vale and Beth Bechtold and husband, Karl of Newton; six grandchildren, Carrie Moss Morgan and husband Pat, Will Lineberger and wife Alesha, Mary Heather Lineberger and Lydia Lineberger, Sarah Katlyn Anthony, and Walt Elmore; two great-grandchildren; Anderson Lineberger and Sawyer Morgan; two brothers, Ray Warlick of Vale and Troy Warlick of Casar; four sisters, Mary Lou Davis of Shelby, Cecelia Miller of Lenior, Margaret Harbison of Webster Grove, MO and Phyllis Miller of Huntersville.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Friday, September 27, 2013 at Stamey Funeral Home, Fallston Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Norman’s Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Huss and Rev. Cecil Buff officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Thomas Herbert ‘Tripp’ Godfrey III
WEST COLUMBIA — Thomas Herbert “Tripp” Godfrey III, 53, of West Columbia, died Wednesday, September 25, 2013. He was born in Charlotte on November 10, 1959. Tripp was very involved with His House Ministries for the past 15 years, enjoyed reading, fishing, and was a history buff. He loved sports and was a big Clemson fan.
Survivors include his parents, Thomas H. Godfrey Jr. and Anne Marie Fitzgerald Godfrey; mother, Glenda Garrett; brothers, Eric (Linda) Godfrey of Atlanta, John (Becky) Godfrey of Charlotte, Joe (Julie) Godfrey of Greensboro, Mack (Tina) Godfrey of Stokesdale, and Sean Grant of Seneca, S.C.; as well as nine nieces and nephews; and two great nephews.
The funeral service for Mr. Godfrey will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, September 29, 2013, at the Meeting Street Chapel, 775 Meeting St, West Columbia, with The Rev. Roger Weaver officiating. A graveside service will follow at 4:30 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church Cemetery, 6230 Beatties Ford Rd, Charlotte, NC. The family will greet friends following the burial service.

Jessie Mae Bradley Griffin
Jessie Mae Griffin, age 90, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 to join the Lord, her husband, and her family that passed before her.
Her funeral service will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 28, 2013 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Ingle officiating. Burial will follow in the Pineville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
She was a lifelong resident of High Shoals and Lincolnton. She was born on April 13, 1923 to the late Oscar and Bertha Bradley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Henry R. Griffin, a daughter, (Penny) Delores Richard, son-in-law, Larry Richard, son, Ronald Griffin, grandson, Alan T. Richard, and three siblings.
Jessie leaves behind to cherish her memory, her son, Tony A. Griffin (Cathi); four grandson, Brian Griffin, Marc Griffin (Amber), Bradley Richard, and Jon Richard; and six great-grandchildren.

Gerald Eugene Neff Jr.
Mr. Gerald Eugene Neff Jr., age 63, of 3694 Summerow Road in Lincolnton, died on Tuesday, September 24, 2013.
A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at Harvest Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Webb officiating.
Gerald was born February 4, 1950 in Parkersburg, W.Va. to Gerald Eugene Neff Sr. and the late Betty Lou Pratt Neff. He worked as a shipping supervisor for Packaging Unlimited.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Sachariat Neff of the home; two sons, Scott Neff and wife Casey and Tim Neff and wife Sarah, all of Mansfield, Ohio; one daughter, Kimberly Neff of Cleveland; father, Gerald E. Neff Sr. of Sandusky, Ohio; one stepson, Curt Stauffer and wife Lavonne of Shreve, Ohio; one stepdaughter, Jill Stauffer Wright and husband David of Atwater, Ohio; two brothers, David Neff of Ashland, Ohio and Gary Neff of Mansfield, Ohio; eight grandchildren; and eight step-grandchildren.

Thomas Flint Parker, 78, of Maiden died September 25, 2013.
A funeral service will be held September 29, 2013 at 3 p.m. at Burke Mortuary Chapel, Newton. Burial will follow at Friendship United Methodist Church Cemetery in Newton. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:30 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. at the funeral home, prior to the service.
