The Lincoln County Family YMCA is hosting its 11th-annual KREWE Fun Fest Saturday.
The fundraising event will take place from 4-9 p.m. at the historic Woodside Plantation on N.C. 182, with tickets costing $15 a person.
Proceeds will benefit the YMCA Community Support Campaign through programs and scholarships.
Katie Bergin of the YMCA said money raised will, specifically, help the organization fund before- and after-school care for kindergarten through sixth-grade students, which it recently took over for Lincoln County Schools.
Last year, 150 people attended the event, she said, adding that the goal this time around is 200.
KREWE is held in memory of Keith Turner, a Lincolnton resident who had a passion for helping youth and families in the community. His wife, Paula, is a board member for the local YMCA.
The festivities will include an antique-car show, hayrides, a giant swing set, tours of the plantation, beach music from the Carolina Breakers from 6-9 p.m. and refreshments.
A magic show for kids, starting at 5 p.m., is also scheduled, with Bergin noting that it will likely be a big draw.
