An eastern Lincoln County man charged in the deaths of his young daughter and nephew is no longer behind bars.
Jordan Keely Arwood, 32, posted a $15,000 secured bond Thursday, shortly after his arrest that day for two counts of involuntary manslaughter, the Sheriff’s Office said.
The Cedarbrook Court resident turned himself into deputies in connection with a five-month long investigation into a construction accident involving Chloe Arwood, 6, and James Caldwell, 7.
The children died in April after a trench collapsed on them on Arwood’s property.
He told detectives in the case he was building a basement for a home.
County officials said the man did not have building permits for the project.
Arwood appeared in a Lincoln County courtroom Friday for his first hearing on the felony charge.
He will again meet before a judge on Oct. 10, prosecutor Michael Miller said.
Arwood also faces charges for felon possessing a firearm and possession of a controlled subtance.
