North Lincoln’s boys and girls cross country teams finished second and Andrew Fea came in first individually at the Weddington Invitational meet on Saturday.
Fea’s time of 16:02 was 6 seconds ahead of second-place finisher Ryan Shannon, also of North Lincoln.
Zach Wesson (23rd), Riley Jones (24th) and Lee Johnson (32nd) also placed in the event for the Knights, who scored an 82 and finished behind Winston-Salem Reynolds (59). Weddington (85), Waxhaw Marvin Ridge (114) and Lake Norman Charter (162) rounded out the top five.
North Lincoln’s girls finished with an 83 to champion Marvin Ridge (28). Charlotte Catholic (126), Concord Robinson (127) and Weddington (137) rounded out the top five.
Allie Castro came in second individually for North Lincoln in a time of 19:01. Caitlin Potter finished fourth (19:34), followed by Madison Lynch (16th), Madeline Sides (28th) and Jordyn Connell (33rd).
The meed consisted of 22 teams and over 800 runners.
WEST LINCOLN 3, CHERRYVILLE 2: At Cherryville, the Rebels rallied to knock off the Ironmen on Thursday and end a two-match slide.
West Lincoln trailed 2-1 at the half. Juan Quintero scored in the 13th minute, Kaylor Garcia scored in the 47th minute and Timoteo Mejia scored in the 62nd minute for the Rebels. Keeper Walker Boyles had eights saves in goal.
West Lincoln (4-2), which was shutout by Bandys and West Caldwell in Southern District 7 Athletic 2A Conference play last week, hosts Newton-Conover today.
NORTH LINCOLN 3 STATESVILLE 0: At Statesville, the Knights picked up a North Piedmont 3A/4A win in straight sets 25-23, 25-22, 25-13.
Lyndsi Pound had seven kills and two aces, Liza Sipe had five kills, Chandler Keller had 12 assists, Savannah Dishman had five kills and three aces and Olivia Loeffler had nine digs for North Lincoln.
The Knights (9-4, 3-3) host West Iredell on Tuesday.
