Deputies have charged a Maiden woman, who remains at-large, with breaking into East Lincoln Christian Ministry late last month, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Sarah Elizabeth Leatherman, 44, is accused of breaking into the Denver nonprofit, located on Catawba Burris Road, on two separate occasions the morning of Aug. 30.
Deputies said the woman, whose last known address was the 3900 block of East Maiden Road, stole a number of items from the organization, including winter coats.
She first accessed the facility around 2:30 a.m. and took $1,000 in items, deputies said.
The woman then allegedly returned to ELCM four hours later to steal roughly $150 in clothing.
Leatherman faces two felony counts each of breaking and entering and larceny after breaking and entering, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies have described her as a 5-foot-2 white woman with a medium build and sandy blond hair — possibly in a ponytail.
The Sheriff’s Office praised local media outlets for their help in publishing surveillance shots and information about the break-in earlier this month, prompting area citizens to contact the county agency with tips on the incident and suspect, a Sheriff’s Office press release said.
Video surveillance was additionally posted to the Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.
Deputies said they also spotted a second suspect on surveillance footage but have yet to identify the individual.
