Zach Hall

LAWNDALE — Earl “Zach” Guy Hall, 24, of 232 Latham Wilson Road, passed away September 5, 2013.

Born March 10, 1989 in Mitchell County, he was a son of Wayne and Tina Butler of Lawndale.  He was a member of Royster Avenue Church of God.

Zach was preceded in death by grandparents, Mary and Earl Hall and Melvin and Faye Butler.

In addition to his parents he is survived by a son, Layne Hall of Lawndale; three sisters, Chastity Hall of Lawndale, Brandy Butler of Lincolnton and Lindsey Hall of Salisbury; a brother, Logan Long of Lincolnton; two nephews, Tristan Hall and Dakota Hardin; three nieces, Khloe Hall, Tyra Nixon and Sydney Nixon; grandmother, Diana Davis (Bob) of Pigeon Forge, Tenn.; grandfather, Dennis Tipton of Burnsville; and great-grandfather, Horace Tipton of Burnsville.

Visitation was held 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. Sunday at Stamey Funeral Home, Fallston. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today at Stamey Funeral Home Chapel, Fallston with Rev. Richard Shores officiated. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Fallston.

Ivey Grey ‘Ike’ Proctor

DENVER — Mr. Ivey Grey “Ike” Proctor, age 81, of 3916 Will Proctor Street in Denver, died on Sunday, September 8, 2013.

His funeral service will be 3 p.m. on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at Denver United Methodist Church with Rev. Tim Killian officiating.  Burial will follow in the Denver Community Cemetery. The body will lie in state for 30 minutes prior to the service.  Visitation will be from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. this evening at Warlick Funeral Home.

Mr. Proctor was born February 12, 1932 in Lincoln County to the late Shaler Roscoe and Grace Cornelia Hager. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Hope Proctor Caldwell.  He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and then later worked as an asbestos installer.

He is survived by his wife, Cecil A. Proctor; four daughters, Theresa Hammitt and husband Ned of Denver, Debra Stallings and husband David of Newton, Robin Dixon and companion Keith Wesson of Kings Mountain, and Raye Lunceford and husband Brian of Denver; a sister, Patty Sherrill of Sherrills Ford; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and his beloved canine, “Scooter.”

Annie Inez Burnett Rhyne

Annie Inez Burnett Rhyne, age 70, of 724 S. Madison Street in Lincolnton, died on Friday, September 6, 2013.

Her funeral service was 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 8, 2013 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Rick Sloop officiating. Burial followed in the Pisgah United Methodist Church cemetery.  The family received friends from 2 p.m. until 3:15 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Annie was born July 29, 1943 in Laurens, S.C. to the late Annie Ashley Heavner. She worked as a sewer for Dallas Pillow Company.

She is survived by her husband, Doyle Rhyne of the home; two sons, Dean Rhyne and Jamie Rhyne, both of Lincolnton; two daughters, Lynn Chapman and Glenna Strange, both of Lincolnton; one brother, Jack Warlick of Lincolnton; two sisters, Margaret Cousins of Raleigh and Lorraine Duncan of Greenwood, S.C.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Gene Edson Short

Gene Edson Short, 76, of Ellenboro, died September 6, 2013.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on September 10, 2013 at Crestview Baptist Church of Forest City; the body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Veterans Section of Eternal Hills Memorial Park (formerly Sunset Cemetery) with Military Rites. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. today at McKinney-Landreth & Carroll Funeral and Cremation Service.

Patricia Mauney

Patricia Ann Beard Mauney, 54, of Vale died September 7, 2013.
