Scouts relive a part of history
Contributed / Local Boy Scout Troop #82 recently relived a part of history when they participated in the camping program aboard the World War II aircraft carrier YORKTOWN in Charleston Harbor. The troop became “shipmates” with other troops as they toured YORKTOWN, World War II submarine CLAMAGORE and the World War II destroyer, LAFFEY. Morning and evening meals were prepared and served to youngsters in the “Chief’s Mess” aboard the YORKTOWN for the full effect of having lived aboard a famous man-of-war. Troop #82 is sponsored by Asbury United Methodist Church. Mr. Tracy McMurry is the Scout Master.
