Local girl headed to National Forestry Pageant

Contributed / Autumn Elizabeth Beard was recently crowned “Little Miss North Carolina Forestry” at the Lincoln Cultural Center in June. She will now travel to Georgia for the National Forestry Pageant to represent her state of North Carolina. The pageant will be held in Tifton, Ga., on Aug. 31. Autumn is a student at Love Memorial Elementary School and will be entering the third grade. She is the daughter of Mark and Heather Beard, granddaughter of Christine Carlin and granddaughter of Roger and Myrtle Beard.
