Housing study open-house
Residents and business people of Lincoln County are invited to attend a Regional Housing Needs Study drop-in open house 4-7 p.m. at the Senior Center, 514 South Academy St. in Lincolnton on the Gaston College-Lincoln campus. The event is part of the “CONNECT Our Future” project. Residents can help plan for the region’s housing future by giving their input on local and regional housing needs and the type of housing they would like in their community. Diabetes event
CMC-Lincoln will host a discussion 6 p.m. in the Dogwood Room of Lincoln Medical Plaza, 441 McAlister Rd. in Lincolnton, as part of their “Keeping on Track with Diabetes” series. Topic for discussion will be getting testing supplies. Representatives will be on hand to answer questions from One Touch Meter and local pharmacies.

Photography Club
The Lincoln Photography Club will meet 7 p.m. in the community room of the Lincoln Cultural Center in Lincolnton. Visitors are welcome. Individuals should bring 10 digital summer photos to share.

Church revival
St. Matthew’s United Church of Christ, 4575 Maiden Hwy. in Maiden, will host their annual Revival Under the Arbor 7:15 p.m. daily today through Thursday with special music and guest preachers including Rev. David Wyant, of First UMC, Pastor Keith Brown, of Emmanuel Reformed Church and Jordan Reich, of First Baptist Church. Homecoming will be Sept. 1.

Spay/neuter registration
The Humane Society of Lincoln County will host registration 1-4 p.m. at 2422 Country Club Rd. in Lincolnton for a low-cost spay/neuter clinic Sept. 10. Payment in the form of cash or check is due at registration. An additional registration will be Thursday.

Rally
The Lincolnton Branch of the NAACP will hold Taking the Dream Home to Lincolnton Rally 5:30 p.m. at the courthouse steps in order to bring awareness to recent action taken by the N.C. General Assembly.

Music festival
The Catawba Valley Music Revival, Inc., will host its first annual God of Second Chances Music Festival starting 11 a.m. at 5799 Coot Williams Rd. in Cherryville. A total of 10 different bands and artists will perform. Advanced tickets are $10 and $15 the day of the show. Children 12 and under are free. St. Luke’s Lutheran Church and North Lincoln High School’s Chorus & Drama Club will sponsor the 8th Annual Super Cruz-in & Show for Pumpkin Center Sept. 14 at 2737 Lee Lawing Rd. in Lincolnton. Vehicles received by Sept. 1 will be $12 and $15 the day of the show. Cars and trucks only from 1989 and earlier will be allowed in the show. Admission is free. Parking is $2 per vehicle.
