C.J. Wilson continues to make his case that he belongs on Chicago’s regular-season roster.
The 2008 Lincolnton High graduate had a pair of tackles in the Bears’ 33-28 win over San Diego at Soldier Field on Thursday night.
Wilson, who led the Bears (1-1) with four solo tackles in their preseason opener against the Carolina Panthers last week, had both of his tackles in the second half on Thursday.
Playing in the secondary, Wilson tackled Dan DePalma at the Chicago 36 after a short 5-yard pass from Charlie Whitehurst midway through the third quarter. Wilson’s second tackle came when he pushed Ladarius Green out of bounds after a 15-yard pickup down the sideline.
Both tackles came on first down.
Chicago’s next preseason game will be at Oakland on Aug. 23.
