Soccer registration
Fall soccer registration is currently taking place 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays through Aug. 27 at the Lentz Recreation Center at Betty G. Ross Park in Lincolnton. Volunteer coaches are needed. For more information or additional registration times, call (704) 735-2671.

Yard sale
Amity Baptist Church, 881 Amity Church Rd. in Ironton, will host a large yard sale rain or shine 2-6 p.m. Proceeds will benefit local mission projects.

Youth parenting class
I-CARE, Inc. Parenting Youth will host its second practical parenting class, facilitated by Family Services, Inc., 2-3:30 p.m. at 105 Court Square in Lincolnton.

Motivational concert

Poetry night
Poetry Lincolnton will host a poetry night 7 p.m. at the Lincoln Cultural Center in Lincolnton. Award-winning poet David Poston will be the guest poet. Open mic and a book sale will follow the show.

Camp meeting
Tucker’s Grove UMC will host its annual camp meeting this week with a trustee meeting 5:30 p.m. at the campground, N.C. 73 in Denver. Everyone is invited to attend. Lions Club yard sale
