Juanita Christopher Caldwell
Juanita Christopher Caldwell, age 72, of 194 Plum Lane in Lincolnton, died on Monday, August 12, 2013.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at Long Shoals Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Gibson officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at Warlick Funeral Home.
Ms. Caldwell was born January 28, 1941 in Lincoln County to the late Rev. Samuel Bruce Christopher and Clevie Yarbrough Christopher. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two sisters, Lisa King and Frances Pugh. Ms. Caldwell worked in textiles.
She is survived by three sons, Benny Caldwell and wife Dana of Sorrento, Fla., David Caldwell of Lincolnton, and James Caldwell and wife Betty of Hudson; one daughter, Neda Massey and husband Jackie of Rock Hill, S.C.; one brother, Billy Christopher and wife Sally of Lincolnton; three sisters, Carole Branning of Port Orange, Fla., Beulah Carringer and husband Kent of Bogue, and Martha Sue McNeill of Baden Lake; eight grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Brenda Jones Clanton
Brenda Jones Clanton, 68, of Sherrills Ford passed away Monday, August 12, 2013 at Abernethy Laurels in Newton.
Born October 2, 1944 in Rutherford County to the late Flay E. Jones and Leona Beaver Jones. Brenda was a 20 year survivor of lung cancer and a supporter of Relay for Life.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Clanton; brothers, Bobby E. Jones and infant brother, J. H. Jones; and step-mother, Naomi W. Jones.
Survivors include brothers, Charles Jake Jones of Glenville, Ga. and Richard G. Jones of Shelby; sisters, Linda J. Vash of Lincolnton; Marcia J. Hopper and husband Ken of Shelby; Emily J. Keener and husband Gamble of Sherrills Ford, Angela Jones of Shelby, Marie Jones of Shelby; step-sisters, Joyce Holcomb of Shelby, Brenda Sweezy of Shelby, Shirley Ferrell of Salisbury; and many special nieces and nephews.
A Remembrance of Life Service will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at 3 p.m. at E. F. Drum Funeral Home Chapel in Lincolnton. Chaplain Larry Bolick will officiate. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Lincolnton. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 15, 2013 from 1:30 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. at E. F. Drum Funeral Home in Lincolnton. Pallbearers are Phil Jones, Marty Jones, Stephen Hopper, Scott Stamey, and Taylor Allen

Nellie Martha Ross Rayfield
Nellie Martha Ross Rayfield, age 90, of Kindred Nursing and Rehab, and formerly of 2072 Dean Lane in Lincolnton, died on Monday, August 12, 2013.
Her funeral service will be 3 p.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Little officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. on Saturday prior to the service at the church.
Mrs. Rayfield was born April 22, 1923 in Fannin County, Ga. to the late Claude William and Vergie Gerrin Ross. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Alonzo Rayfield; a daughter; six brothers; and five sisters. Mrs. Rayfield was a homemaker and a caregiver and mamaw to many children.
She is survived by four sons, Leo Rayfield of Lincolnton, David Rayfield of Greensville, S.C., Tim Rayfield of Lincolnton, and Terry Rayfield of Morganton; a sister, Hazel Ross of Mineral Bluff, Ga.; six grandchildren, Josh, Quint, Jordan, Clay, Jason, and Benjamin Rayfield; five step-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild, Harper Rayfield.
The family would like to express special thanks to Carillon Assisted Living and Kindred Nursing and Rehab for the excellent care they provided to Nellie.
