Apple pie sale
The Lincoln County Extension and Community Association will sell fried apple pies today through Aug. 16 for $2 apiece in the demonstration kitchen on the first floor of the Citizens Center in Lincolnton. Pies will be available starting 1 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Aug. 16. Walk-ins will be limited to 5 pies or less.  For large orders, call (704) 736-8464 starting 9 a.m. today.

Golf practice
East Lincoln High School will host a women’s golf practice 2-4 p.m. today through Aug. 15 at Cowan’s Ford Country Club, 761 Club Dr. in Stanley.

Church event
El Shaddai Church, 4953 E. N.C. 27 in Iron Station, will host a 4 p.m. worship service with guest speaker Evangelist Glady Woodward.

Youth parenting class
I-CARE, Inc. Parenting Youth, funded by Centralina Workforce Development Board, will host practical parenting classes facilitated by Family Services, Inc., 10 a.m., to 12 p.m. at 105 Court Square in Lincolnton. An additional class will be 2-3:30 p.m. Aug. 16 at the same location.

The Iron Station Senior Citizens will meet 12 p.m. at Ironton Presbyterian Church in Iron Station.

Blood drives
Community Blood Center of the Carolinas will host a blood drive 12-4 p.m. at CMC-Lincoln, 433 McAlister Rd. in Lincolnton, and 4-7 p.m. at David Memorial Baptist Church, 2533 Country Club Rd. in Lincolnton.

Food/clothing giveaway
In My Fathers House Community Support Services Network will host a food and clothing giveaway 10 a.m. to noon at 208 Academy St. in Lincolnton.

Pizza fundraiser
Untouchables Pizza, 6020 N.C. 16 in Denver, will host “Spirit Night” 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. with 10 percent of proceeds benefiting the Amity Lane Fund, established for Iron Station residents needing to rebuild a neighborhood road destroyed by recent flooding. Customers are asked to mention the fund when ordering. The business will host another fundraiser on Aug. 26.

Widowed Group
Widowed Group of the Greater Gaston Area will host a motivational/educational class “Building Healthy Relationships Part II: How to Choose and How to be Chosen (Dating) 6:30 p.m. at the Gaston County Senior Park & Rec. Center, 1303 Dallas-Cherryville Hwy. in Dallas. Guest speaker will be Marcia T. Thompson, MSW. Doors will open at 6 p.m. Refreshments will be served after the program. Lions Club yard sale
