Maggie Bell ‘Polly’ Caldwell Beal
JOHNSON CITY, TENN. — Maggie Bell “Polly” Caldwell Beal, age 80, of the Christian Care Center in Johnson City, Tenn., and formerly of Lincolnton, died on Tuesday, August 6, 2013.
Her funeral service will be 11 a.m. today in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mickey Beal and Rev. Rich Myers officiating. Burial will follow in Hollybrook Cemetery. The family received friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 8, 2013 at Warlick Funeral Home.
Mrs. Beal was born March 10, 1933 in Lincoln County to the late Noah F. and Leona Pierce Caldwell. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, B.C. Beal Jr. Mrs. Beal retired from Belk’s Department Store.
She is survived by two sons, Mickey Beal of Bluff City, Tenn. and Jerry B. Beal of Harrisburg; two brothers, Elliott Caldwell of Lincolnton and Ray Caldwell of Spartanburg; five grandchildren, Mickey Beal Jr., Emily B. Judd, Jaren Beal, Alexander Beal, and Anna K. Beal; and four great-grandchildren, Andrew Beal, Abby Judd, Hanna Judd, and Noah Judd.

Shelby Jean Davis Thomas
IRON STATION — Shelby Jean Davis Thomas, age 74, of 764 Furnace Road in Iron Station, went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, August 7, 2013.
Her funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2013 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kevin McClure officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn West cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. this evening at Warlick Funeral Home.
Mrs. Thomas was born March 15, 1937 in Washington County, Va. to the late Wyndom Roscoe and Tiny Powers Davis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Janice, Caroline and Ruth, and a brother, Roscoe.
She is survived by her husband, Charles William “C.W.” Thomas of the home; five sons, Kenneth Clark Thomas, Ronald Lynn “Winky” Thomas, and Randy Allen Thomas, all of the home, Gary Marvin Thomas and wife Susie of Stanley, and Ray Anthony Thomas and wife Jenny of Cherryville; a daughter, Mary Christine Craig and husband Roger of Iron Station; two sisters, Peggy Vass and Theresa Cashatt; six brothers, Lonnie Davis, Bob Davis, Johnny Davis, Earnest Davis, Steve Davis, and Larry “Dill” Davis; six grandchildren, Kenna Holt, Jessie Harkey, Timothy Thomas, Rebecca Thomas, Angie Hope, and Ciara Akins; and nine great-grandchildren, Ethan, Kayleigh, Karson, Kamden, Thomas, Danielle, Miranda, Davalyn, and Chloe.
Memorials may be made to Cornerstone Family Church, Mt. Holly.

Timothy Scott Pendleton
Timothy Scott Pendleton, 46, of Charlotte drowned while river-tubing on Aug. 6, 2013, near Blacksburg, S.C. Tim, born in Gastonia, lived in Lincolnton for years. An avid fisherman, former plumber and fan of professional wrestling, Tim was the son of Doris Webb Hampton of Lincolnton and the late David Michael Pendleton.
Tim is survived by his mother; his brother Michael R. Pendleton of Charlotte; half-sisters Tammy Elmore (husband Robert) and Lisa Jumper of Lincolnton; half-sister Sharon Dawn McCraw (husband David) of Smyrna, S.C.; half-brother David Michael Pendleton Jr. (wife Lisa) of York, S.C.; and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013 at Bessemer City Church of God. A memorial will follow, also at the church.
The family requests that, instead of flowers, donations may be sent in Tim’s name to any charity or Hospice agency. Recipients’ acknowledgements may be sent to Mike Pendleton, 6406 Montvale Court, Charlotte, NC 28226.
