Thelma Irene Houk Bartlett
Thelma Irene Houk Bartlett, age 89, of 103 Keever Street in Lincolnton, died on Sunday, August 4, 2013.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at Forest Lawn Cemetery with Rev. Michael Rice officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday at Warlick Funeral Home.
Mrs. Bartlett was born January 19, 1924 in Lincoln County to the late Will and Lottie Beal Houk. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, John Eugene Bartlett, a son, Johnny Eugene Bartlett, and a daughter, Phyllis Ann Robinson. She worked in furniture manufacturing.
She is survived by a son, Larry Sisk of Lincolnton; three daughters, Nancy Stallings, Pamela Hicks, and Debbie Poovey, all of Lincolnton; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Otilia Vega Aguilar de Campos
CROUSE — Otilia Vega Aguilar de Campos, age 77, of 1160 Pleasant Grove Church Road in Crouse, died on Friday, August 2, 2013.
Her funeral service will be at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at St. Dorothy’s Catholic Church. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. this evening at Warlick Funeral Home.
Mrs. de Campos was born June 26, 1936 in Chavinda, Michoacan, Mexico to the late Jusus Vega and Aurora Aguilar. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Alfonso Campos of Crouse; six sons, Alfonso Campos, Ignacio Campos, Jesus Campos, Francisco Campos, Jose Campos, and Omar Campos; four daughters, Rosa Torres, Teresa Campos, Josefina Guerrero, and Beatriz Campos; four brothers; one sister; twenty-two grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Harlan Dwight Hooper
Mr. Harlan Dwight Hooper, age 59, of 445 Roper Drive in Lincolnton, died on Saturday, August 3, 2013.
His funeral service will be 2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joseph Alghrary and Rev. Leon Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:45p.m. until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Hooper was born May 31, 1954 in Lincoln County to Eula Davis Chapman and the late Harold Glenn Hooper. In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Vaughn Hooper and stepfathers, Bill Chapman and Eloy Turner.
He is survived by his mother, Eula Davis Chapman of Lincolnton; brother, Allen Hooper and wife Judy of Maiden; two nieces, Valerie Watts and husband Jeff and Adrianne Poovey and husband Nathan, all of Maiden; stepbrothers, Dana Chapman of Lincolnton and Maurice Chapman of Fla.; and stepsisters, Melita Columbi of S.C., Elaine Funderburk of Mooresville, and Vickie Yount of Lincolnton.

Betty Tallent Mosteller
Betty Tallent Mosteller, 81, of Valdese died Friday, August 2, 2013.
Mrs. Mosteller was born January 1, 1932 in Lincoln County, to the late James Augustus Tallent and Junie Miller Tallent. She was a member of Mt. Home Baptist Church and attended North Brook #2 High School in Vale. Mrs. Mosteller retired from Broughton Hospital in 1981 with 30 years of service. She was a member of the Mimosa Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star of Morganton and a member of the Retired State Employees Association.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Gordon Mosteller; son, Charles Keith Mosteller; brothers, James, Ralph, Charles, Sam, and Buddy Tallent; sisters, Mae Sain, Florence Mull, Helen Tallant, Edna Tallent and Minnie Lineberger.
Mrs. Mosteller is survived by her son-in-law, John H. Bounous and grandson, Aiden Keith Johnson of the home; step-daughter, Martha M. Brown of Lincolnton; niece, Barbara Tallant Metz of Hudson; special caregiver, Annette Holder of Glen Alpine and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., today at Mt. Home Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Gamble officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Ethel Caldwell Payseur, age 89, of Cardinal Health Care and Rehabilitation, died on Saturday, August 3, 2013.
Her funeral service will be 2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at Long Shoals Wesleyan Church with Rev. John Mann and Rev. Ron Haithcock officiating. Burial will follow in the Pisgah United Methodist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Mrs. Payseur was born July 25, 1924 in Lincoln County to the late George and Ida Pate Caldwell. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Herman Payseur and a son, Donnis Payseur. She worked as a hairstylist for over 50 years.
She is survived by a sister, Hazel Freeman of Long Shoals; daughter-in-law, LaDonna S. Payseur of Long Shoals; two grandchildren, Scott Payseur and wife Kimberly, and Nicole Payseur; four great-grandchildren, Holden Payseur, Kamron Payseur, Maris Payseur, and Kerrington Payseur; and a niece, Sybil Stewart.

STANLEY — Joseph Hoke Rudisill, 75, a resident of Stanley Total Living Center, passed away on Friday, August 2, 2013. He was born in Lincoln County, son of the late Joseph Solomon and Irene Hoke Rudisill. He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Dellinger Rudisill and a grandson Brandon Joseph Rudisill. He was co-owner of Lowesville Automotive.
He is survived by two sons, Terry Hoke Rudisill and wife Sandy of Lowesville and Shawn Anthony Rudisill and wife Jennifer of Denver; three grandchildren, Kerri Hester and husband Erik of Belmont, Michael Rudisill of Lowesville, and Joshua Rudisill of Denver; one great granddaughter, Kaisley Hester; three sisters, Linda Goodson and husband Jerry of Lincolnton, Sybil Goodson and husband Jerry of Kannapolis, Patricia Hazelden and husband Eric of Aynor, S.C.; two brothers, Hugh Rudisill of Charlotte and Julian Rudisill and wife Alene of Iron Station.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mr. Rudisill will be held 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at the Living Word Ministries with Pastor Derrik Dellinger officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
