Yard sale/cruise-in
West Lincoln High School, 172 Shoal Rd. in Lincolnton, will host a yard sale starting 7 a.m. followed by a cruise-in at 10 a.m. Cost is $10 to reserve a space. Emergency Fair
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 2710 Redbud Dr. in Gastonia, will host a free “Emergency Preparedness Fair” 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Participants will include the American Red Cross, Gastonia Fire Department and Greensboro Home Storage Center. Displays and demonstrations will include alternative fuels, cooking without power, alternative communications, food storage and more.

Church supper
St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 4051 King Wilkinson Rd. in Lincolnton, will host a chicken pie, dumplings and beef stew supper starting 11 a.m. with live Bluegrass and Gospel music from “The Clontzs” 5-7 p.m. Dine-in or carry-out options will be available. Proceeds benefit the church building fund.

Church fundraiser
Greater Works Full Gospel Ministries’ Youth Department, 2543-A East Main St. in Lincolnton, will host a fish fry, hot dog and hamburger sale starting at 11 a.m.

WBT Briarhoppers

Apple Queen pageant
The Business & Professional Women’s Club of Lincolnton will host the 2013 Miss Lincoln County Apple Queen Scholarship Pageant 7 p.m. at the Citizens Center in Lincolnton. Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for seniors 60+ and children 12 and under. Tickets are available at the Lincoln Cultural Center in Lincolnton and will also be available at the door.

Mentoring Moms
Mentoring Moms Psycho-educational Nonprofit Community Outreach Program, Inc., will host the first meeting of its new group session at 6-8 p.m. The group is for women who need to increase their self-esteem or are victims of domestic violence.
