Sue Wells Kerley
BURNSVILLE — Sue Wells Kerley, age 73, of 791 McKinney Road in Burnsville, died on Friday, July 5, 2013.
Her funeral service will be 3 p.m. today in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Alan Higgins officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2:45 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Kerley was born August 14, 1939 in Rowan County to the late Lewis Franklin and Lula Bryte Eaker Wells. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, James Lawson Kerley and a sister, Linda Wells Underwood. She worked as a shipping clerk and, in her free time, enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves and having cookouts with her family.
She is survived by two sons, Roger Chastain and wife Sonya of Charlotte and Timothy Kerley and wife Jennifer of Burnsville; three sisters, Ethel Wellmon of Landis, Lois Daniels of Kannapolis, and Margaret Stackleather and husband Homer of Columbia, S.C.; and one grandson, Joshua Chastain of Concord.

Muriel Hull Brendel of 6468 W. Hwy 27, Vale, died Thursday, July 4, 2013 at Brian Center in Lincolnton.
Born May 17, 1922 in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late Major Lee Hull and Eliza Elizabeth Seagle Hull. She was retired from Sweetree in Cherryville and was a member of Hulls Grove Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kieffer Brendel; son, Eddy Brendel; three brothers, Vance Hull, DC Hull, and Ralph Hull; and six sisters, Leola Williams, Laura Jarrell, Bryte Ledford, Lula Ballard, Prue VanDyke, and Ethel Rhodes.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Fonda and Roger Kiser of Vale; three grandchildren, Chelsea Kelly, Stacey Brendel, and Cory Brendel; and two great grandchildren, Holden Kelly and Parker Kelly.
Visitation was held July 6, 2013 from 3:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. at Hulls Grove Baptist Church. A funeral service was held July 6, 2013 at 5 p.m. at Hulls Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Marcus Redding officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Coley Smith Little, 99 of Rock Hill, S.C. died Friday, July 5, 2013.
His funeral service was held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 7, 2013 at Denver United Methodist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery. The family received friends from 3 until 3:45 p.m. on Sunday prior to the service at the church.

James Daniel Taylor, 59, of Cherryville died Saturday, July 6, 2013.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at 4 p.m. at Carpenter’s Funeral and Cremation Services. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends Tuesday at the funeral home from 2:30 until 3:45 p.m. and at other times at the home.
