Church buffet

Medicine Drop-off
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office will hold a special unwanted medicine drop-off 9-11 a.m. at the Baker District Office, 700 John Howell Memorial Dr. in Lincolnton. Accepted items will be over-the-counter medications, vitamins and supplements, prescriptions, liquid medicines in leak-proof containers, syringes, ointments and creams and any other unwanted medications. Computer Users Group
The Computer Users Group of Lincolnton (CUGoL’s) will host their annual BBQ meeting today. Visitors are welcome. The group usually meets 10 a.m. the first Saturday of each month at the Charles R. Jonas Library, W. Main St. in Lincolnton.

Motorcyclists Association

MONDAY
Basketball camp
East Lincoln High School will host ongoing basketball camps this summer including a co-ed camp that starts today and runs through Thursday (July 11). The camp is for rising 2nd-10th graders. Additional dates will be July 22-25 and Aug. 12-15 for rising 2nd-8th graders. New Student Orientation
Gaston College will host a four-day Basic Skills New Student Orientation class 9 a.m. to noon and 5:30-8:30 p.m. today through July 11 in room 118 of the Lincoln Campus, 511 S. Aspen St. in Lincolnton. Changes to the GED will commence in 2014, affecting cost and method of testing. Previous partial test scores will also expire. Students are required to take the orientation class before taking the GED or receiving an Adult High School diploma. Additional class dates will be July 22-25 and Aug. 5-8. Puppet show
The Lincoln County Public Library will host the Charlotte-based, award-winning group the Grey Seal Puppets 10:30 a.m. at the Citizens Center in Lincolnton. Quilt Guild
