Post 100 hosts final regular-season game today

Cherryville Post 100 fell to first-place Shelby Post 82 4-3 on Sunday after taking a 12-2 six-inning loss against Hickory earlier in the day.
West Lincoln graduate Brett Huff posted Cherryville to a 1-0 lead in the second on a single but Shelby tied it 1-1 in the fifth and scored three in the seventh to take a 4-1 lead.
Cherryville scored two runs in the top of the ninth but left the equalizing run on base.
Cherryville’s game against Hickory was postponed due to weather on Friday but, before the team’s met on Sunday, Post 100 (10-10, 9-6 Area IV Western Division) crushed Henderson County 15-4 in seven innings on Saturday. West Lincoln standouts contributed several runs in the blowout win — Huff added two hits and an RBI, Cameron High logged two RBIs and Cody Dellinger added two RBIs.
Cherryville closes out the regular season today with a home game against Rutherford County at 2 p.m. Area IV coaches will be meeting in Cherryville today at 7 p.m. to make pairings for the first round of the playoffs.
