HIV testing

“Alive After Five”
The second “Alive After Five” summer concert will be 6-9 p.m. in front of the courthouse in downtown Lincolnton.

Chicken benefit
New Vision Ministries, 661 Clark Creek Rd. in Lincolnton, will host a smoked chicken benefit for Phil and Tonya Prater 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Cost is $8 per plate. Funds will help off-set Phil’s cancer expenses. Pick-up or dine-in options will be available. Deliveries may be made for five or more plates. Cornhole tournament
Boger City Optimist will host a corn hole tournament today at Boger City Optimist Park, 1834 Buffalo Shoals Rd. in Lincolnton, to benefit the club’s 14 and under baseball team. Cost is $35 per team. “Family Movie Night”

Singing Convention

St. Luke’s Episcopal Church will host a progressive dinner “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” starting with appetizers at 6:30 p.m. The Shakespearean evening will continue with dinner and a horse-drawn carriage ride to the Wright House, 201 N. Parade entries needed
The City of Lincolnton is currently looking for parade entries for its upcoming July 4th Celebration starting 8 p.m. July 4 in the downtown area. Lineup will be 6:30-7:30 p.m. at Fifth Third Bank on E. Main St. To obtain an entry form, individuals may stop by City Hall, W. Sycamore St., or call (704) 736-8980. Deadline for submission is June 28.
