The Lincoln County Cardinals picked up three wins in their last four games, including a 6-5 victory over first-place Mint Hill at North Lincoln High School on Sunday.
Bradley Hallman batted in the game-winning run for the second-place Cardinals (10-8, 8-4 Eastern Division Area IV) against Mint Hill in the bottom of the ninth and picked up the win from the mound against the Carolina Heat on Thursday. Lincoln County took an 11-1 win over the Carolina Heat in seven innings with an offensive explosion that included two hits apiece for Clay Hodges, Nathaniel Scoggins, Justin Norton and J.T. Bowden.
Norton pitched a two-hit shutout against Huntersville on Friday and led the Cardinals to a 4-0 win. Hallman and Danny Sullivan each logged two hits apiece.
Lincoln County suffered its lone loss of the four-game stretch in a 13-3 defeated against Union County. Sullivan went 3-4 at the plate and Jacob Hoover went 2-2.
The Cardinals now enter a stretch of 10 games in 10 days to close out the regular season. They travel to face the Carolina Heat at Newton-Conover today at 6 p.m.
