A 51-year-old Cleveland County man is behind Lincoln County bars after Sheriff’s deputies said he exposed himself to a teen girl at an area residence.
Steve Watts, of 122 Grace Lane in Grover, blamed the alleged incident on his sleepwalking, claiming “he thought he was going to the bathroom” when the 13-year-old victim saw him, deputies said.
The incident took place in April at a Bess Chapel Church Road residence where the suspect had been living with the victim’s family for a brief period, according to a report.
Watts is being held in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center under a $25,000 secured bond. He faces one felony count of indecent liberties with a minor.
