The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public’s help in identifying two men who they said broke into a western county store on Sunday.
Surveillance video from Half Way Supply, located at 889 North N.C. 18 in Vale, recorded the men on the property just before 12:20 a.m., a press release said.
The suspects were traveling in a burgundy Jeep Cherokee.
According to deputies, the suspects more than likely used a rock to break the front door glass and access the business.
Officers said they arrived at the scene to find the smashed glass and rock lying on the store floor and 25 missing cigarette cartons, a value of nearly $900.
Anyone who can identify the men, one of whom had a goatee, or who has information on the incident can contact the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office at (704) 736-8856 or Crime Stoppers at (704) 736-8909.
If a lead results in an arrest, the source could receive up to a $1,000 reward. Tips may also remain anonymous.
An investigation is ongoing.
