Christine Elizabeth Williams Grigg, age 79, of 2095 Lithia Springs Road in Lincolnton, died on Thursday, May 30, 2013.
Her funeral service will be 3 p.m. on Monday, June 3, 2013 at Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Mrs. Grigg was born March 16, 1934 in Catawba County to the late Marion Pinkney and Susan Campbell Williams. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Junior Grigg; son, Rodney Grigg; four brothers, Dwight Williams, Paul Williams, Streta Williams, and Dennis Williams and four sisters, Eunice Beard, Mary Cooke, Leoda Hicks, and Ethel Caldwell. She worked in the furniture industry.
She is survived by one daughter, Debby Schronce and husband Jim of Lincolnton; three sisters, Sylvia Avery of Mt. Holly, Rachel Beal of Lincolnton, and Edna Sigmon and husband Charlie of Maiden; one granddaughter, Jennifer McGinnis and husband Mark of Denver; and two great-grandsons, Zachary and Cason McGinnis.

Lorene Russ Dellinger Harbinson
VALE — Lorene Russ Dellinger Harbinson, 85, of Houser Farm Rd., died Wednesday May 29, 2013 at Hospice of Catawba Valley. She was born on July 15, 1927 in Cleveland Co. the daughter of the late Arthur and Nettie Owens Russ. Mrs. Harbinson was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, a member of North Brook Baptist Church, member of Order of the Eastern Star #282 Fallston, and retired inspector for Mohican Mills.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband’s Rev. Coy Dellinger, and Lester Harbinson; sons, Coy Timothy Dellinger and Nelson Luther Dellinger; brothers, Wilburn and Larry Russ; and step-mother, Bertha Neill Russ.
Survivors include her daughter Sheila Towery (Ken) of Vale; sons, Rev. Dr. Wade Dellinger (Lynn) of Cherryville, Ray Dellinger (Sheila) of Vale and Morris Dellinger (Patsy) of Connelly Springs; step son Terry Harbinson of Easley, S.C.; twelve grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and three brothers Donald Russ (Opal) of Shelby, Wayne Russ (Ann) of Waco, and Joe Russ (Rena) of Charlotte.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, June 1, 2013 at North Brook Baptist Church at 1 p.m. with Rev. Bob Wise and Rev. Ray Pennell officiating. Burial will be private at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday at the church after the services and at other times at the home.

Yvonne Sigmon Helms, age 74, of 13 Circle Drive in Lincolnton, died on Wednesday, May 29, 2013.
Her funeral service will be 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Salem Baptist Church with Pastor Kenneth Little and Pastor Andy Royals officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Mrs. Helms was born September 23, 1938 in Lincoln County to the late Claude Lee and Bonnie Conner Sigmon. In addition to her parents; she was also preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Joe Helms; two sisters, Susie Sigmon and Lois Ray; and a brother, Dwight Sigmon. She worked in textiles for J.P. Stevens.
She is survived by three daughters, Cynthia H. Abernathy of Winston-Salem, Lorie Helms of Cherryville, and Bobbie Helms Little of Hickory; a sister, Phyllis Dellinger of Dallas; two brothers, Ronnie Sigmon and Claude Sigmon, both of Lincolnton; and four grandchildren, Magan Gates, Kenley Little, Korbin Little, and Kaleb Little.

Kathryn Miller Leonhardt
VALE — Mrs. Kathryn Miller Leonhardt, 75, of 260 Hwy 274 North, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Crawley Memorial Hospital in Boiling Springs.
Mrs. Leonhardt was born in Cleveland County on March 29, 1938 a daughter of the late Guy Self “Bush” Miller and Pauline Wehunt Miller. She was retired as a teacher for North Brook School and West Lincoln High School. Mrs. Leonhardt was a member of Hull’s Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Don Blakley Leonhardt of the home; a daughter, Suzanne Leonhardt of Vale and a son and daughter-in-law, Blake and Cindy Leonhardt of Mobile, Ala.; a brother, John Miller of Vale and two grandchildren, Kyle and Peyton Leonhardt.
Visitation will be today from 4 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. at Hull’s Grove Baptist Church in Vale and other times the family will be at the home of John Miller, 628 Hull’s Grove Ch. Rd. Vale. Funeral services will be held today at 6 p.m. at Hull’s Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Marcus Redding officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Carroll Gabriel Lineberger Sr.
Carroll Gabriel Lineberger Sr., 67, of Terrell passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte.
He was born December 21, 1945 to the late Milton Gabriel Lineberger and Mary Medlin Lineberger. Carroll was the owner of Terrell Camping, a member of Smyrna Independent Church, serving on the Church Council and as a Sunday School teacher. He has served as a Mason and as President of the Board of Directors of the Sherrills Ford/Terrell Fire and Rescue. Carroll was a US Army veteran. He enjoyed flying, hunting and golfing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Carolyn Lineberger.
Survivors include wife of 43 years, Shelia Helton Lineberger of the home; son, Carroll Lineberger Jr. and wife Kimberly of Crouse; daughter, Angie L. Joseph “Papa Joe” Augustus Polhill, age 78, of 815 Danbrook Circle in Lincolnton, died on Monday, May 27, 2013.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. David Wyant officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
Mr. Polhill was born June 18, 1934 in Mecklenburg County to the late Joseph A. Polhill Sr. and Martha Lambeth Polhill. He was an insurance agent with Polhill and Associates. Mr. Polhill also served in the United States Navy as a flight instructor then transferred to the Air Guard from which he retired after 30 years.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Kay Bolick Polhill of the home; three daughters, Robin Munnikhuysen of Md., Carol Polhill and Jenni P. Snider, both of Lincolnton; and one sister, Shirley Conner of Hickory. He was known as “Papa Joe: to his nine grandchildren and one great-grandson.

DENVER — Edith Hunter Shipp entered this life of service January 1, 1943 and departed into Eternity, May 26, 2013. Ms. Shipp was the only daughter of the late John Hunter and the late Nadean McLean Graham.
Ms. Shipp became a life-long, active and faithful member of Rock Hill United Methodist Church. She was loyal and devoted to her family as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Ms. Shipp was preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Gene McLean.
Edith Shipp leaves to mourn her passing two dedicated sons, Sebastian Shipp (Sandra) of Morrisville and Aaron Shipp of New York City, N.Y.; one step-son, Dexter Ross (Maria) of Charlotte; two brothers, David McLean and Gilbert McLean (Geraldine), both of Stanley; one god-daughter, Joyce McClain of Denver; one aunt, Alberta McLean Graham (Howard) of Mount Holly; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and lifetime friends.

Celeste Carter Smith, age 40, of Lincolnton went home to be with her Lord and mama, Willa Sue Eastridge Sain, on Monday, May 27, 2013. She was born on March 1, 1973 in Gaston County.
Celeste was one of the truly special people in this world with a huge heart and compassion for others. She was never judgmental of others regardless of who they were or where they were from. Celeste loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and helped others strengthen their faith through her words and actions. Anyone who met her and felt her love will always remember her.
Celeste had a deep love for her son, Seth Smith and granddaughter, Chloe Marie Sue Smith, as well as her “kiddos” Katie Morrison and Ashley Stager all of Lincolnton. Additionally she is survived by her husband, Marty Smith of Lincolnton; two brothers, Danny Eastridge, his wife Wendy and children Evan, Trevor, and Zoey of Lincolnton and Bobby Eastridge, his wife Melissa and children Brittany and Ashley of Berwind, W.Va.; step father, Jim Sain of Lincolnton; and special friend, Michael Wyant of Newton.
