Fred Larry Sigmon
MATTHEWS — Fred Larry Sigmon died peacefully in his home in Weddington on May 3, 2013. Fred was born in Lincolnton on July 29, 1937, son of James Blaine Sigmon and Martha Knight Sigmon. He graduated from Brevard Junior College, High Point College, and N.Y.U. and eventually moved to Saudi Arabia. It was there that he met his wife, Becky, had two sons, and traveled the world. He later moved to Texas, and from there he traveled much of the U.S. with his family. He then moved back to North Carolina, settling in Charlotte, where he took an active role at Christ Lutheran Church and watched his sons become adults. Fred loved, among many things, spending time with his sons, growing and talking about growing tomatoes, and making sly jokes.
Fred was predeceased by his parents; brother, Wylie; and his sister, Frances Lingerfelt.
He is survived by his wife Becky; son Scott and daughter-in-law Amanda and granddaughter Jade, son Mark and daughter-in-law Allison; brother, Steve; and his sister, Betsy Morrison. A memorial service was held on Monday, May 6 at 10:30 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church in Charlotte.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the church, Habitat for Humanity, or Hospice of Union County. The family extends its sincere appreciation to Hospice of Union County and especially nurse Paula Knight. Fred was loved.

Kathleen “Kath” Bell Honeycutt Seibert
Kathleen “Kath” Bell Honeycutt Seibert, 85, formerly of Denver, passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at the Brian Center of Mooresville.
She was born in Iredell County on March 21, 1928 to the late Andrew Jessie and Della Freeze Honeycutt.
Kathleen was active in her church and enjoyed quilting and teaching others to quilt.
She is survived by her sisters, Margaret H. Neel of Denver and Dorothy H. Brown of Huntersville; brother, Pete (Barbara) Honeycutt of Troutman; twin brother, Gene (Phyllis) Honeycutt of Troutman; step-daughters, Lou (Wayne) Leathers of Durham and Marty Seibert of Fla.; step-grandchildren, Tim (Tina) Leathers and Traci (Bryan) Ashley; ten great grandchildren; and five nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Rogers Seibert.
A visitation for family and friends was held on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Troutman Funeral Home. Funeral services followed the visitation at 11 a.m. in the Troutman Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Donald Ingle officiating. Interment services followed at Westport Baptist Church cemetery in Denver.

Peggy Jean Hedrick Wise
Peggy Jean Hedrick Wise, 65, of Vale passed away Monday, May 6, 2013 at Sherrills Ford Hospice House.
She was born September 8, 1947 in Catawba County, to the late John Theodore and Rose Moser Hedrick. She was retired from the furniture industry.
In addition to her parents, John and Rose Hedrick, she was preceded in death by three brothers, LeeRoy Hedrick, James Hedrick and Eddie Hedrick.
Survivors include partner of 27 years, Gary Reynolds; son, Thomas “Tommy” Dewey Wise Jr. and wife Teresa of Vale; daughters, Crystal Isaac and husband Bobby of Lincolnton, Sharleen Doak and husband Kenny of Southport; brothers, Russell Hedrick of Newton, Guy Hedrick of Maiden, Ray Hedrick and wife Carolyn of Maiden, David Hedrick and wife Terry of Newton; sisters, Lena Hedrick of Newton, Gladys Halland and husband Ned Hall of Newton, Lena “Sis” Willis and husband Ronnie of Maiden; grandchildren, Christopher Wise, Ashley Wise, Alex Wise, Heather Isaac, Katie Isaac, Bubba Doak, Dusty Doak; great-grandchildren, Carli Elmore; best friend, Racheal Smith; and a number of nieces and nephews. An inurnment graveside service will be held Friday, May 10, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Eastview Cemetery in Newton. The Rev. Robert Goins will be officiating.

Howard Richey Frazier Jr.
Howard Richey Frazier Jr., 66, of Lincolnton passed away Monday, May 6, 2013 at Catawba Regional Hospice.
He was born June 16, 1946 in Buncombe County, to the late Howard Richey Frazier and Carolyn Richey Potter. He served in the US Navy, was a retired business owner, and a member of the VFW and American Legion.
Survivors include, ex-wife and dear friend, Mary D. Frazier; brother, John Robert Frazier and wife Kimbrell of Lincolnton.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 1 p.m. in the chapel at E.F. Drum Funeral Home in Lincolnton. Chaplin Larry Bolick will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday, May 11, 2013 immediately following the service.

CHERRYVILLE — Maxine Evelyn Reynolds Ferrell, age 59, of 2413 Hwy 274 died May 6, 2013 at Hospice Wendover. She was born in Lincoln County, April 18 1954 a daughter of the late Joe Reynolds and Lena Black Reynolds Penley of Cherryville. Maxine was a waitress at Carolina Restaurant. In additions to her father she was preceded in death by a brother, Ricky Dale Reynolds.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Ferrell of the home; two sons, Robert Young and wife Chastity of Cherryville, Donald Young and wife Holly of Lincolnton; four grandchildren, Joshua Young, Braxton Young, Chloe Young, Ava Young; two brothers, Johnny Reynolds and wife Shelia of Shelby, Walter Reynolds and wife Jackie of Lake Norman; one sister, Patricia Mellon and husband Rick of Shelby; two step-sons, Richard Ferrell and Derek Ferrell both of Dallas.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, May 9, 2013 at 3 p.m. at Cherryville Missionary Methodist Church with Bobby Holtsclaw officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, this evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
