Hot dog sale
South River Baptist Church, 2036 Southside Rd. in Lincolnton, will host a hot dog sale 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Proceeds will benefit the church’s parking lot expansion project. Dine in and carry out options will be available.

BBQ sandwich sale
Crouse VFD, 2764 W. N.C. 150 in  Crouse, will host a BBQ bologna sandwich sale 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cost is $5 per bag. Deliveries will be available for five or more orders. For more information, call (704) 735-2247.

Spaghetti dinner
Tucker’s Grove UMC’s Women’s Group will host a spaghetti fundraiser 5-9 p.m. in the fellowship hall, 5982 Tucker’s Grove Ch. Rd. in Iron Station. Cost is $7 per plate.

Yard sale
Westside House of Prayer, 4260 Flay Rd. in Lincolnton, will host a hot dog and yard sale starting 7 a.m.

Yard sale
St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 4051 King Wilkinson Rd. in Lincolnton, will host a group yard sale 7 a.m. to noon with several items for sale. Breakfast biscuits and drinks will also be sold.

Church sale
New Hope Baptist Church, 532 N. Little Egypt Rd. in Denver, will host a church sale 7 a.m. to noon with educational items for teachers, office equipment, children’s materials, tools and more. Cakes and ham biscuits will also be for sale. For more information, call (704) 483-8610.

5K race
Register now to participate in the Sally’s YMCA Mission Miles 5K Trail Run & Fun Run starting 8 a.m. at the Carolina Thread Trail marker at the facility. Activities will include hair painting, music and kid-friendly warm-up relays. Bike/skate day

 Medicine drop off
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office will hold a special unwanted medicine drop off 9 a.m. to noon at the Charlie District Sheriff’s Office, 1889 N N.C. 16. Acceptable items will include over-the-counter medications, vitamins and supplements, prescriptions, ointments/creams, syringes, liquid medications in leak-proof in containers. Plant sale
The East Lincoln Garden Club will host a plant sale 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Webb’s Chapel UMC, 4640 Webbs Chapel Ch. Rd. in Denver. Items for purchase will include perennials, annuals, roses, orchids, trees, shrubs and herbs along with garden accessories, bird houses, pottery and baked goods. Rabies clinic
Lincoln County Animal Services will host their annual rabies clinic 12-4 p.m. at West Lincoln Family Medicine, 4429 W. N.C. 27 in Vale. Cost is $7. For more information, call 704-736-9386. Additional clinics will be May 18 and June 1.

Church benefit
Salem Lutheran and United Church of Christ, 3410 Startown Rd. in Lincolnton, will host a benefit hot dog supper 4 p.m. followed by a live auction at 5 p.m. with an assortment of items including handmade pottery, gift certificates, an antique walnut plant stand and more.

Church singing
Grace Baptist Church, 495 Horseshoe Lake Rd. in Lincolnton, will host The Heritage Quartet, from Lancaster, S.C., at 7 p.m.

A “Cruise-In” will be 1-5 p.m. in downtown Lincolnton with cars and trucks from 1979 and earlier. No vehicles are allowed before 12:30 p.m. due to limited church parking. Ms. Franz will be seeking Lions’ support and endorsement of the National Federation Of The Blind’s BELL ( Braille For Literacy Learners) Program, set for July 8-12 for Lincoln County’s blind/visually impaired children ages 5-12.
