Earl Dean Jenkins
Mr. Earl Dean Jenkins, age 67, of 4746 Lama Lane in Lincolnton, died on Saturday, April 20, 2013.
His funeral service will be 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at Leonard’s Fork Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Goins and Rev. Darrell Bost officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at Warlick Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at the home of Tonya and John Forbes, 4690 Kowaleski Lane in Lincolnton.
Mr. Jenkins was born May 6, 1945 in Lincoln County to the late Broadus Lee and Mary Hilderbrand Jenkins. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by brothers Lee Jenkins, Avery Jenkins and Clyde Jenkins, and sisters, Hazel Canipe and Dolly Bradley Kennedy. Mr. Jenkins served in the United States Army and then later worked in furniture manufacturing from which he retired. Later, he worked for Wal-Mart in Cherryville.
He is survived by a daughter, Tonya Jenkins Forbes and husband John of Lincolnton; two grandchildren, Johnathan Forbes and Raven Forbes; two brothers, Darrell Jenkins of Lincolnton and Billy Jenkins of Icard; and two sisters, Louise J. Guiton of Lincolnton and Patsy J. Seifert of Denver.

Judy Black Beal
CHERRYVILLE — Judy Black Beal, age 67, of 1220 Tot Dellinger Road, died April 19, 2013 at Carolina Medical Center Charlotte. She
was born in Gaston County, January 13, 1946 a daughter of John Lee Black of Cherryville and the late Dollie Reynolds Black.
Judy was a faithful and longtime member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where she diligently served as secretary for 25 years and a Sunday School teacher. Her job was her mission work. She was a friend to all and adored all of her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors in addition to her father include her husband of 32 years Billy Frank Beal; children, Tonja Moss (Ronnie) of Loudin, Tenn, Shasta Beal of Concord, Mechelle Price (Darby) of Lincolnton, Chad Williamson of Cherryville and Billy Beal II (Blair) of Landis; eight grandchildren, Nikki Martinez, Alan Ramsey, Shana Price, Travis Cash, Lanie Cash, Chandler Price, Tyler Price, and Tristin Beal; three great grandchildren; a sister, Sue Tallent of Lincolnton and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, April 21, 2013 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Wayne Key officiating. Burial followed the visitation. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.

Virginia Gordon Orr Minnick
Mrs. Virginia Gordon Orr Minnick, age 90, of the Cardinal Health Care in Lincolnton, died on Saturday, April 20, 2013.
A graveside service will be 2 p.m. on Friday, April 26, 2013 at Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service.
Mrs. Minnick was born October 29, 1922 in Smith County, Va. to the late George and Mary Price Orr. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard Cox Minnick and one daughter, Mary Jean Navey.
She is survived by one daughter, Betty Lou Minnick of Lincolnton; one grandson, Ben Navey and wife Lisa of Lincolnton; one granddaughter, Sheila Rudisill of Lincolnton; three great grandchildren, Ronald Navey and wife Maria of Vale, Elizabeth Falvey and husband Brian of Lincolnton and Matthew Houser of Lincolnton; three great-great granddaughters, Mackenzie Navey, Stella Navey and Grace Falvey.

Everette Howard Poston
CROUSE — Everette Howard Poston, age 81, of 416 Anthony Grove Road, Crouse entered into eternal life with his Lord and Savior on April 18, 2013. Howard was born on September 10, 1931 in Cleveland County, the son of the late John Fibre and Sarah Jane Self Poston. He was a member of Marvin United Methodist Church, Lincolnton, retired from Gaston County School System, Cherryville East School and was retired farm manager for Sunbeam Farms, Cherryville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Poston and a grandson, Keith Kerley.
Survivors include, wife Ruth Wood Poston of the home; sons, Eddie Howard Poston (Lynn) of Apex, William Ted Poston and Steve Martin Poston (Pam) all of Cherryville; daughters Sara Jane Bumgarner (Mike) of Cherryville, Jean Poston Morgan (Howard) of Crouse; brother, Larry Poston (Sarah) of Canton; sisters, Lillie P. Lackey, of Cherryville and Shirley McMurry, of Kings Mountain; ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. today at Marvin United Methodist Church, 2731 Startown Road, Lincolnton, N.C. 28092, with Rev. Jim Tate officiating. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends today prior to the funeral service from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. in the church sanctuary.

Jean Sigmon Beckham
DENVER — Jean Sigmon Beckham, 78, of Denver passed away on April 18, 2013 at her residence. Born in Belmont on June 8, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Louise Jackson Sigmon. Jean was a secretary for Eastern Airlines before her retirement.
Besides her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her sister, Doris.
She is survived by her husband, Ted Lewis Beckham; daughter, Debra Beckham Robbins and her husband, Harvey of Iron Station.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 1:15 p.m. at The Good Samaritan Funeral Home, 3362 North Highway 16 Denver, NC. The family received friends prior to the service from noon until 1 p.m. A graveside service followed at 4 p.m. at Forest Lawn West Cemetery, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC.
