A no-swim advisory issued following a sewer spill in eastern Lincoln County last week has been canceled.

The county’s Health Department approved the cancellation of the notice early Monday morning for the affected area, which bordered a Lake Norman cove near the 8300 block of Ranger Island Marina Road in Denver.

Lincoln County Public Works had tested three sites daily for fecal coliform levels, with two consecutive samples received at all three testing sites meeting the Division of Water Quality standards.

The spill, which occurred last Wednesday, was estimated to have reached 20 gallons, according to a press release issued by the county’s Public Works Department at the time.

A result of a commercial vehicle damaging the sewer connection, the flow of untreated sewage into the water was promptly stopped.
