Lincoln County medics assisted a head-on collision near the Mecklenburg/Lincoln County line Saturday that claimed the life of 35-year-old woman and sent two others, including an infant, to an area hospital, various news media outlets have said.
Kristy Miller perished in the wreck, which occurred just before 11 a.m. on N.C. 73 in Huntersville.
News outlets said Miller was traveling toward Lincoln County when she crossed the center line and struck a pickup truck and trailer.
The truck driver along with an infant who was traveling in the backseat of Miller’s vehicle at the time of the crash were transported to a hospital but are both expected to be OK, troopers have said.
The cause of the wreck has yet to be determined, but troopers have ruled out alcohol as a contributing factor.
Portions of N.C. 73 were shut down for several hours following the incident.
