The bodies of two children who became trapped underground at a home
construction site in Stanley on Sunday have been recovered.
The six-year-old girl and seven-year-old boy became trapped when a
dirt wall collapsed at the site on Cedarbrook Court. Around 75 rescue
workers were onsite throughout Sunday night and into Monday morning.
The body of the girl was discovered at 6 a.m. The body of the boy was
found an hour later at 7 a.m.
A press release from the Denver Fire Department said the incident is
under investigation by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
