Margaret Leonard Pickens
Margaret Leonard Pickens, 89, of The Oaks in Huntersville, formerly of Lincolnton passed away on March 13, 2013 after an extended illness. Margaret grew up in Lincolnton and graduated from Lincolnton High School. She held the most honorable position of “Momma” to her two children and all their friends. She had a tremendous capacity to love and care for all she came into contact with. She had a joyful spirit and great sense of humor that never left her.
She loved to read and watch her favorite television shows and developed an uncanny love of golf in her later years. She really enjoyed watching her favorite golfer, Tiger Woods, and arguing with her neighbor Paul about who was the better golfer.
She was called “Momma” by all that met her and by so many that counted themselves as her “adopted” children. She was full of love and gave the very best hugs. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

Hub Pickens and daughter, Barbara Pickens; sister, Winnie Leonard Hott of Hollywood, Fla. and a number of nieces, nephews and “special” extra children.
