Norma Sue Rhyne Johnson
Norma Sue Rhyne Johnson, age 88, of Will Schronce Road in Iron Station, died on Friday, March 8, 2013.
Her funeral service will be noon on Monday, March 11, 2013 at Pearl Baptist Church with Rev. Malcomb Ivey and Rev. William Wease officiating. Burial will follow in Iron Station Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:45 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. prior to the service at the church. At other times the family will be at the home of Wayne Johnson, 3046 Lee Lawing Road in Lincolnton.
Mrs. Johnson was born May 2, 1924 in Gaston County to the late Lemuel Shuford and Eva Rankin Rhyne. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, James Elliott Johnson; a brother, Donald Eugene Rhyne and sisters, Thelma Abernathy, Odessa Mauney and Polly Flowers; and a grandson, Kevin Johnson. Mrs. Johnson worked in textiles.
She is survived by two sons, Tommy Keith Johnson and wife Frances of Charlotte and Wayne S. Johnson and wife Margaret of Lincolnton; one daughter, Ann Johnson Ballard and husband Stan of Cherryville; one brother, George E. Rhyne of Gastonia; one sister, Katherine Green of Alexis; six grandchildren, Jeff Johnson and wife Lori, Keith Johnson, Jennifer Heavner and husband Damon, Allyson Boyle and husband Steve, Brian Johnson and wife Molly, and Olivia Austin; and five great-grandchildren, Kelly, Anie, Makayla and Sarah Johnson and Erika Boyle.
Memorials may be made to Pearl Baptist Church, 4641 E. Highway 27, Iron Station, NC 28080.

Patricia Owens Wright, age 55, of 1734 Every Drive in Iron Station died Friday, March 29, 2013 at her home.
Patti was born May 29, 1957 in Rochester, N.Y. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Owens. Patti worked at CaroMont Endocrinology.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 4, 2013 in the Warlick Funeral Home chapel.
She is survived by her loving husband, Brad Wright of the home; son, Robert Wright of Rochester, N.Y.; daughter, Rachel Wright of Iron Station; mother, Glenice S. Owens of Pittsford, N.Y.; step-son Ryan (Jessica) Wright of Sodus, N.Y.; and step-daughter, Robyn (Jared) Orbaker of North Rose, N.Y.; sisters, Sue (David) Howland of Farmington, N.Y. and Jeannie Owens of Dansville, N.Y.; granddaughter, Kyleigh Crouse; step grandchildren, Jordan and Jaxon Wright and Bradyn and Parker Orbaker along with several nieces and nephews.

Justin Garrett Smith, age 20, of 965 Huntington Hills Drive in Lincolnton died Sunday, March 31, 2013.
Justin was born January 9, 1993 in Forsyth County. Justin attended West Lincoln High School before transferring to North Lincoln High School where he graduated. He was employed as a welder at Everything Attachments in Newton. Justin was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Robert F. “Stoney” Rosenbalm.
His funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 5, 2013 at Covenant Bible Church. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Warlick Funeral Home.
Justin is survived by his parents, Jeff Smith and Sue Rosenbalm Smith of the home; sisters, Christina Smith of Nashville, Tenn. and Heather Smith of Lincolnton; grandparents, Leroy and Carlene Smith of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and Joyce F. Rosenbalm of Morristown, Tenn.; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins as well as many friends..
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Smith family to be donated to a yet to be determined brain trauma research fund in Justin’s memory.

Sandra ‘Sandy” Jean Kane
Sandra Jean Kane, “Sandy” 67, of Lincolnton passed away at her residence on Friday, March 29, 2013 surrounded her family. Born on November 3, 1945 in Rockford, Ill., Sandy was the daughter of the late Elmer and Pauline Waters Morgan. She was employed by Barber Coleman in Rockford.
Sandy moved to Lincolnton 11 years ago from Heber Springs, Ark. She was a member of the Lincoln Squares and Gold Wings Road Riders – South Fork Wings Chapter NC-L Gastonia.
Besides her parents, Sandy was preceded in death by husband, Tom Dewey and son, Richard.
Sandy is survived by her husband, Jack; children, Kris (Kevin) Harvey, Ron (Anissa) Dewey and Dianna (Matt) Oar; grandchildren, Stephanie, Jessica, Amanda and Landon Dewey and Savannah Oar; sister, Judy Papini and her friend, Betty Grindey; nieces Debbie Oyler, Julie Papini and Val Kennington and several grand nieces
A Celebration of Sandra’s Life will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 1 p.m. at The Good Samaritan Funeral Home, 3362 North Highway 16, Denver. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m.
