Federation of the Blind

Diabetes meeting
CMC-Lincoln will host another session in their ongoing series “Keeping on Track with Diabetes: Thursday’s treats” with a discussion 3 p.m. at the Lincoln Medical Plaza, 441 McAlister Rd. in Lincolnton, on how to cook diabetes-friendly food items. Joint work session
The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners & Lincoln County Planning Board will hold a joint work session 6:30-8 p.m. on the third floor of the James W. Warren Citizens Center.

Cancer rally

FRIDAY
Yard sale
Ethelene Leatherman’s Annual Spring Yard Sale will be 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 2600 Keever Dairy Farm Rd. in Lincolnton with some clothes on sale for 50 cents. Hot dogs will be available. Proceeds will benefit church missions.

Revival
Victory in Jesus Ministry, 2977 Laboratory Rd. in Lincolnton, will host a three-day revival starting 6 p.m. today. Church officials/members will be featured on WHKY-TV (Channel 14) 5 p.m. Saturday and return to the church for more activities at 7 p.m. The revival will conclude on Sunday with activities set for 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. For more information, call (704) 736-9129.

The second day of Ethelene Leatherman’s Annual Spring Yard Sale will be 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Farmers markets
The Lincoln County Farmers Market and Lincolnton Farmer’s Mark will both re-open today for the spring season with the new feature of accepting Debit/EBT cards. The Lincolnton market on W. Water St. will open 7 a.m. to noon on Saturdays. The Denver market at Rock Springs School will open 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays. Additional hours for each location will be announced in the near future. There are also plans for an occasional farmers market at the Department of Social Services in Lincolnton. Church yard sale
Middle Cross Baptist Church, 3474 Crouse School Rd. in Lincolnton, will host a yard sale, car wash and cookout 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Mrs. Bubbles Car Wash in Lincolnton. Proceeds will benefit the MCBC Land Fund.

Food giveaway

Macedonia United Methodist Church in Vale will host a hamburger, hot dog and yard sale 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Yard sale spots are available for $5.

WWII Appreciation Day
The Last Man’s Club will host a WWII Appreciation Day at noon at American Legion Post #30 headquarters, 1120 N. Aspen St. in Lincolnton. Nonprofit kickoff event

Rose program
Charles R. Jonas Library in Lincolnton will host a “Rose Garden How To” program at 2 p.m. with tips on selecting roses that will flourish in the area along with information on how to start a rose garden bed or border.
