Rose Society
The Cleveland/Lincoln County Rose Society will host a rose bush pruning demonstration 10 a.m. at the Charles R. Jonas Library in Lincolnton. Egg hunt
Macedonia Baptist Church, 5286 E. N.C. 150 in Lincolnton, will host their annual Easter egg hunt 10:30 a.m. to noon. The event will feature prizes as well as goodie bags for all participants.

 Free clothes giveaway
North Brook Baptist Church, 7421 Flay Rd. in Cherryville, will host a free clothes giveaway called The Clothes Closet, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. with gently-worn clothes for men, women and children. For more information, call the church at (704) 435-4471.

Asbury UMC, 3097 Asbury Ch. Rd. in Lincolnton, will host an Easter egg hunt 10-11:30 a.m. with food and crafts.

Salem Lutheran and United Church of Christ, 3410 Startown Rd. in Lincolnton, will hold an Easter egg hunt at 11:30 a.m.

City of Lincolnton Parks & Rec. in conjunction with Coalition Against Child Abuse and the Child Advocacy Center and Dairy Queen of Lincolnton will host the 66th Annual Egg Hunt 10:30 a.m. at Betty Ross Park in Lincolnton. Children will be divided into four age groups, and prizes will be awarded. Children are asked to bring their own bag or basket, but no Easter grass. Rain date is set for April 6. The Kids Dome, N.C. 27 in Lincolnton, will host an Easter Egg Hunt 2 p.m. for ages 0-12.

Pageant
The Miss Gastonia Scholarship Association will sponsor the Miss Easter on Parade Pageant 10:30 a.m. at the Cherryville Community Building, 106 South Jacob St. in Cherryville. The competition is for girls ages 0-19 who live in Gaston, Lincoln, Cleveland and surrounding counties. All contestants will receive a tiara. Proceeds will benefit the Miss Gastonia Scholarship Fund.  Pink Sunday
Today is the final day for African-American church congregations across the region to register at komencharlotte.org for the area’s annual Pink Sunday event on April 28. Ambassadors with each church are asked to coordinate the effort and tailor it to their needs. In past events, churches have released balloons, had survivors give speeches, held candle lightings, etc. Assistance with registration is also available by calling Mary Elaine Knight, BSN, at the Lincoln County Health Department at (704) 732-9073.

 Cancer fundraiser
East Lincoln Relay for Life team Betting on a Cure will hold a fundraiser “Cooking for Cure” 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Westlake Restaurant, 1235 N.C. 16 Business in Denver. All proceeds will benefit Relay for Life.

Lincoln County Board of Commissioners will meet 6:30 p.m. at the James W. Warren Citizens Center in Lincolnton.

Revival

 Lion’s Club
The Lincolnton Lions Club will meet 7 p.m. in the Elm Classroom of CMC-Lincoln’s Medical Plaza in Lincolnton. Members and guests planning to eat in the cafeteria should arrive 30 minutes early.
