Eastern Lincoln County residents are invited to renew their Christian faith this Easter season during the 1st Annual Prayer Breakfast Wednesday at the Sally’s YMCA in Denver.
Already an annual tradition for the Lincoln County YMCA in Lincolnton, the county’s newest YMCA facility is following in franchise footsteps with the spiritual event.
The Denver workout facility’s Christian Emphasis Committee is sponsoring the breakfast, set to start at 6:45 a.m. with a meal from Lincolnton’s Chillin N’ Grillin restaurant followed by a one-hour prayer event at 7:15 a.m., YMCA officials said.
Committee Chairman Beth Yarbrough stated in a recent organization press release that the goal of the event is to give the Denver community “an annual opportunity to gather for a time of prayer and common fellowship” during Holy Week.
Local residents and musical talents Marty Rhyne and Heather Gordon will provide entertainment, and Krispy Kreme President and CEO Jim Morgan will deliver a special message for the crowd.
Tickets are $12 and can be reserved by emailing SallysY@YMCACharlotte.org , calling (704) 716-7300 or visiting the facility’s Member Services desk.
