WL softball drops North 8-3

Karsen Leonhardt and Madison Ferguson both hit home runs as the West Lincoln Rebels varsity softball team took an 8-3 win over North Lincoln in Southern Piedmont 1A/2A Conference play on Friday.
Leonhardt hit a three-run homer in the fourth, followed by a two-run home run by Ferguson.
Rylee Marsh pitched a complete game for West Lincoln with one strikeout, two walks and nine hits.
Hollyn Franklin started the game for North Lincoln and pitched two innings with one strikeout, two hits and five walks. Peyton Wilson entered the game in relief and got three of her four strikeouts with the bases loaded. Wilson gave up six hits and three walks.
Gabby Solomita led North Lincoln at the plate with two hits, including a home run, and two RBIs.
Franklin went 3-3 with two singles.
Courtney Trickle and Jayden Maddox led North Lincoln’s defense with six putouts each.
