The Mustangs (6-2, 3-0) broke a 3-0 Highland Tech advantage with a five-run third inning. East Lincoln scored five runs in the fourth and two runs in the fifth.
Darin Salter led East Lincoln at the plate with four hits and three RBIs. Clay Hodges went 3-5 with three runs scored, Addison Parrish went 1-2 with four RBIs and a three-run home run in the fourth. Carson Philemon went 1-2 with an RBI.
Nick Savoie picked up the win on the mound with three innings of work. He allowed three runs on four hits with one strikeout. Danny Sullivan earned his first save of the season in 2.3 innings with one run and four strikeouts. Parrish closed the game with 1.2 innings and one strikeout.
“Good win after a disappointing 5-2 loss to Forestview the night before,” East Lincoln head coach Chris Matile said in an email. “Highland Tech jumped on us quick, I was very proud of the way our guys responded. Savoie and Sullivan did a great job on the mound keeping us in it till we were able to finally pull away.”
