Friday will mark the fourth annual Art Crawl in downtown Lincolnton.
Sponsored by First Federal Savings Bank, the event will kick off at 5:30 p.m., running through 9 p.m. between Court Square and the 400 block of East Main Street.
A partnership between the Arts Council of Lincoln County, the Downtown Development Association, the Lincolnton-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce, the Lincoln Cultural Center and the Lincoln County Historical Association, the Art Crawl features artists from throughout the county whose work will be on display at various downtown businesses.
Merchants taking part in the Art Crawl will have posters signifying their participation, and organizers will also have maps available for visitors.
This year, 35 businesses will have local artists’ work on display, Abby Cole, events and marketing coordinator with the city’s Business and Community Development Department, told the Times-News on Monday.
“One thing that is new this year is the sign-up feature on the Arts Council website,” Cole said. “Artist locations are featured on the website for viewers to know ahead of time who will be where.”
Arts Council Executive Director Laurie Bostian said many of this year’s artists included links to their websites and Facebook and YouTube pages on the sign-up list, which she said she hopes will help to promote their work.
“That’s the goal, after all,” she added.
A wide variety of art will be showcased, including paintings, drawings, photography, pottery, fiber arts, jewelry, metal-smithing, wood-turning and more.
The event will also include food and music.
