The North Lincoln Lady Knights varsity softball team beat St. Stephens 5-4 in extra innings on Thursday.
Hollyn Franklin pitched six innings with five strikeouts, 10 hits, three walks and three earned runs. Peyton Wilson threw three innings in relief with four strikeouts and one hit.
North Lincoln senior Payton Bruce went 1-5 at the plate but made the most of her one hit. She plated two runs with a double.
Franklin went 2-4 with a single and a two-run home run. Jayden Maddox went 2-2 with two singles and an RBI.
Courtney Trickle led the North Lincoln defense with nine putouts. Maddox added seven putouts.
North Lincoln opens Southern Piedmont 1A/2A Conference play today at home against Bessemer City at 6 p.m.
