A Hallmark Movie Channel production is scheduled to shoot in Lincolnton on Friday, with actor Danny Glover reportedly among the cast members expected to be in town.

The filming will be taking place at Laboratory United Methodist Church, located at 2896 Laboratory Road. Pastor Charlene Hutchings told the Times-News Tuesday that she has been in contact with crew members for the project.

Jamie Vernon, a member of the church’s congregation, said the production’s crew has indicated that it will be shooting at the location all day.

Church members have been invited to watch the action unfold, she added.

The crew will be staging a fire at the church for the particular sequence being shot, with fake smoke to be used and the actual flames digitally added in later to create the illusion, Vernon said.

Randy Byers, location manager for the project, told the Times-News that he couldn’t release any details regarding the production.

News of this filming comes a few weeks after another production, entitled “An Evergreen Christmas” and starring Naomi Judd, shot on location at Helms Christmas Tree Farm in Vale.
