East Lincoln High School will be presenting “Murder at the Red Rum Café” beginning Thursday.
Performances, to continue through Friday and Saturday nights, will take place at 7 p.m. in the high school’s drama room.
Tickets for the play cost $15 and must be purchased in advance by calling the school at (704) 736-1860. A dinner of baked ziti and salad will also be served.
ELHS Choral and Drama Director Brian McSwain offered the following synopsis:
“This is a musical, murder-mystery dinner theater,” he said. “The Iron Station Rockers are back in their hometown of Denver to present a special weekend of music at the Red Rum Café. The rockers, Trixie Torino, Maxine Collins, Laverne Ellkington and Charlene Clarkson, all have skeletons in their closets.”
“Add to this mix a gangster, a bodyguard, an over-the-hill showgirl, an escaped convict, a homeless person and $263,000 in cash, and the stage is set for murder. The audience must catch the killer or killers. They may purchase clues from the cast members for $1 per clue.”
