Katherine Grace Bias of Hickory and Jeffrey Dalton Walters of Morganton were married October 6, 2012 at the Woodmill Winery, Vale with the Rev. Eddy Bunton of Burkemont Baptist Church, Morganton officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. Donald and Karen Bias of Hickory. She is the granddaughter of Darlene Melott of New Martinsville, W.Va. Katie is a graduate of Hickory High School and Appalachian State University, where she received a bachelor’s degree in communication disorders and a master’s degree in speech language pathology. She is employed by Burke County Schools as a Speech Language Pathologist.
The groom is the son of Scott Walters of Morganton and the late Sandi Mabe Walters, and the grandson of Frances Mabe, and Roy and Jan Walters, all of Morganton. Dalton is a graduate of Freedom High School and Appalachian State University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in business administration / risk and insurance management. He is employed by Mimosa Insurance as a sales executive.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
Tracy Bias, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Lindsi Walters and Christina Walters, sisters of the groom; and Erin Deans, Michelle Gammon and Laura Abernethy Wiles.
Rusty Williams, friend of the groom was best man. Groomsmen were Daniel Mabe and Nathan Whicker, cousins of the bridegroom; and Stephen Gallion, Joey Tallent and Kyle Morgan.
Flowers girls were Marley Johnson, niece of the groom; and Madilyn Redmon, cousin of the bride. Register attendants were Amber Romeo, Sara Thomas and Jennifer Pokwatka.
A reception was held at the Woodmill Winery and was hosted by the parents of the bride.
A rehearsal dinner was held at Zion Lutheran Church, Hickory and was hosted by Roy and Jan Walters.
After a honeymoon to St. Lucia, the couple lives in Morganton.
