The Lincolnton Lady Wolves girls varsity basketball team extended its win streak to four games with a 74-47 rout of the Cherryville Lady Ironmen on Tuesday.
Lincolnton (17-4, 12-1 Southern Piedmont 1A/2A Conference) senior Treasure Avery scored a team-high 24 points and logged a double-double with 11 assists. Bridget Derr also scored a double-double with 22 points and 12 rebounds.
The win helped Lincolnton maintain a tie for first place with Lake Norman Charter (17-4, 12-1) in the Southern Piedmont Conference standings. Lake Norman Charter took a 63-40 win over North Lincoln on Tuesday.
Lincolnton’s win sets up Friday’s regular-season finale on the road against the West Lincoln Lady Rebels.
The teams have already met twice this year — Lincolnton took wins in both games, with a 34-26 victory on Dec. 27 in a nonconference tournament game and a 38-35 win on Jan. 18.
Lake Norman Charter hosts fifth-place Bessemer City on Friday.
