Flames consume a lakefront residence in Denver
Flames consumed an eastern Lincoln County lakefront vacation home early Wednesday morning, leaving Sheriff’s deputies and fire officials stumped.
East Lincoln firefighters were called to the scene just before 4:30 a.m., and upon arrival, witnessed fire leaping from the roof of the two-story home, located on Ranger Island Marina Road in Denver, Captain Lee Keever told the Times-News.
Fire officials said the residence was 50 percent destroyed in the incident, but a cause has yet to be determined.
Agencies from Denver, Huntersville and Pumpkin Center assisted East Lincoln crews in extinguishing the fire.
There was no one inside the home at the time of the incident.
A joint investigation between the Lincoln County Fire Marshal’s Office and Sheriff’s Office is ongoing.
