Ralph Wayne Beal
MAIDEN — Mr. Ralph Wayne Beal, age 77, of 5179 Mountain View Church Road in Maiden, died on Tuesday, February 5, 2013.
His funeral service will be 4 p.m. on Monday, February 11, 2013 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Lytle officiating. The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will take place at noon on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 in the VA Cemetery in Salisbury.
Mr. Beal was born October 24, 1935 in Lincoln County to the late Marvin and Bertha Beal. He served in the United States Army for over 26 years.
He is survived by his wife, Rachel Lookadoo Beal of the home; two sons, Tony Beal and wife Karen of Maiden and Timothy Don “TD” Beal and wife Mona of Ky.; and two granddaughters, Nicole Beal and Amanda Merrick.

Inez Mauney Clark
DALLAS, N.C. — Inez Mauney Clark, 90, of Bessemer City, died February 7, 2013 at the Robin Johnson House.
Mrs. Clark was born on January 29, 1923 in Gaston County a daughter of the late Ervin and Loretta Metcalf Mauney. She was a member of Hephizibah Presbyterian Church where she served as a Deacon.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Miles Rhyne Clark, brother, Ralph Mauney and a sister, Vergie Aderholt.
Survivors include her son Miles “Tim” Clark of Bessemer City; daughter in law Marie Clark of Gastonia; grandchildren, Derek Lee Clark and wife Randi, of Bessemer City and Michelle Rose and husband John of Dallas; sister, Millie Mauney of Lincolnton; four great grandchildren; special sister in law Myrtle Clark; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Hephizibah Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jeff Osbourne officiating with burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at the church.

Suzanne Irene Smith, age 68, of 2540 Ernest Huss Lane in Lincolnton, died on Thursday, February 7, 2013.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, February 11, 2013 at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church with Rev. G. Miles Smith officiating. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at Warlick Funeral Home.
Mrs. Smith was born October 5, 1944 in Cuba, N.Y. to Helen Fodor Bartley and the late Edwin Bartley. She was a Registered Nurse.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Thomas W. Smith of the home; two daughters, Megan England and husband Kemp, and Stephanie Warren and husband Michael, all of Lincolnton; three sons, Timothy Smith and wife Diane of Tex., David Smith and wife Sharon of Ga., and Stephen Smith and wife Kelly of N.Y.; daughter-in-law, Dawn Smith of N.Y.; a brother, Michael Bartley of N.Y.; and thirteen grandchildren, Lydia, Natalie, and Madeline Smith of Tex., Jacob, Jarred and Ella Smith of N.Y., Patrick, Christopher, and William Smith, all of Ga., Madison and Sage Warren, and Tatum and London England, all of N.C.
