Helms, Silver Wedding

Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Andrew Silver II

Candace Brittney Helms and Stephen Andrew Silver II were united in marriage on October 13, 2012 at the Blowing Rock Art and History Museum in Blowing Rock. Reverend Gregory Possman officiated the 6:30 p.m. ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of David and Sandra Helms of Lincolnton. She is the granddaughter of Irene Fortenberry and Helen Helms; and of the late Walter Fortenberry and Earl Helms. Candace received a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Management from Appalachian State University. She is employed by Lees-McRae College as the Assistant Director of Admissions.

The groom is the son of Steve and Terri Silver of Boone. Steve studied Marketing at St. Petersburg College. He is employed by Ross Chrysler Jeep Dodge of Boone as the Sales Manager.

The bride was given in marriage by her father and mother. Maid of Honor was sister of the bride, Jennifer Helms. Bridesmaids were Sarah Poston, Sarah Aderhold, Laura Oreamuno, Stephanie Silver, Christine Mukosiej, Mandy Keziah, and Lynn Brinson.

Best Man was friend of the groom, Branden Rager. Groomsmen were Brett Silver, Mark Silver, Donald Gilman, David Glazer, James Andres, Austin Boggs, and Nick McCullers.

Music was performed by Shara and Steve Cocchiola, sister and brother-in-law of groom.

The wedding was directed by Meris Gantt.

A reception hosted by the bride’s parents was held at the museum where guests enjoyed the art galleries featuring North Carolina Pottery and Woodwork. A rehearsal dinner hosted by the groom’s parents was held at Makoto’s in Boone.

The couple was honored with two wedding showers hosted by the bride’s family and co-workers. The bride was honored with a Bridal Tea and Luncheon hosted by her mother, sister, grandmothers, and Lori Lawing, aunt of the bride. Bridesmaids honored the Bride with a lingerie shower in Myrtle Beach, Labor Day weekend.

After a honeymoon in Lake Tahoe, Nev. the couple resides in Boone.
