Water outage
Lincoln County Public Works will be repairing the Bethel Church Road Booster Pump Station starting 9 a.m. The water outage will be from the intersection of Bethel Church Road and U.S. Business 321 to the intersection of Noles Circle and U.S. Business 321. Broom sale
The Lincolnton Lions Club will be selling children’s mops and household and industrial brooms throughout the year at the following locations: Mosteller’s Barber Shop, People’s Bank in Lincolnton and Denver, all three locations of The Drug Store and City Lunch. Proceeds will benefit Lions Club scholarships and other charities along with services for the blind/visually impaired, some of which include the purchase of eyeglasses and eye exams as well as sponsorships for blind individuals to attend Camp Dogwood.

Federation of the Blind

Cooking/recipe swap class
CMC-Lincoln will host a cooking and recipe swap class 3 p.m. at the Lincoln Medical Plaza, 441 McAlister Rd. in Lincolnton, with guest cook Caroline Holland, intern with Lenoir-Rhyne University. Community bingo

Children’s art display
The Lincoln Cultural Center, 403 E. Main St. in Lincolnton, will display artwork from the children of A Place to Grow preschool in Lincolnton starting 10 a.m. today with an opening reception. Store anniversary event
The Penny Thrift Store, 532 S. N.C. 27 in Stanley, will celebrate its one-year anniversary 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with the store’s popular Penny Bag Sale, in which shoppers will only pay $0.01 per item. Additional items in the store will be half off. Proceeds from the store benefit The King’s Daughters’ Ministry, a residential program that provides counseling, education and daily life skills training to hurting and troubled women, and is located in Stanley. River Oaks Band

Community concert
The Half Dozen Brass Band from Athens, Ga., will perform 2 p.m. at The Episcopal Church of St. Peter By-The-Lake, 8433 Fairfield Forest Rd. in Denver, for Mardi Gras.
